Build Your Own Jay-Hawk: How Our "Build A Digger" Tool Works

Every job is different. A landscaper squeezing through a side gate needs something different from a farmer clearing fence lines or an owner-builder digging footings. That's why we built Build A Digger: a simple online tool where you pick exactly what goes on your machine and see the price update as you go.

How it works

1. Pick your machine. Start with the 1-tonne JHM10, the 1.4-tonne JHM14 or the 2.9-tonne JHM30.
2. Choose your engine. Stick with the proven standard diesel, or upgrade. The JHM10 can run a Briggs & Stratton petrol engine, and the JHM14 and JHM30 can be built with a genuine Kubota diesel, which comes with a Kubota digital display.
3. Set up the arm and chassis. Add a 50° swing arm for digging close to walls and fences, and on the JHM10 and JHM14 a telescopic chassis that widens for stability and narrows to fit through gates.
4. Cab or canopy. Keep it open with a canopy, or add an enclosed cab on the JHM14 and JHM30, with air-conditioning for those long Queensland summers.
5. Add your attachments. Tick the attachment bundle (quick hitch, auger, two buckets and a ripper), upgrade to a hydraulic quick hitch, and add aluminium ramps if you need them.
6. Make it yours. Keep our signature Jay-Hawk Grey at no charge, or use the colour slider to pick any colour you like. We'll colour-match it at the factory.

As you build, the total updates live, along with your 30% deposit and an estimated freight cost to your postcode.

What happens after you request a build

When you're happy with your build, hit Request this build. Your full spec comes straight to us, and you can send it on WhatsApp too. We'll check everything with the factory and come back to you within one business day with:

• your confirmed price and specification
• your build timeline (custom builds take approx. 10–14 weeks)
• an invoice for your 30% deposit

Nothing is locked in until you've seen the confirmed price in writing.

If your build matches one of our standard machines, the tool will tell you, and point you to the standard price, so you never pay custom pricing for a machine we already build.

Good to know

Prices in the builder are estimates, and options are confirmed with the factory before you pay a deposit. Custom colour orders are built specially for you, so the deposit is non-refundable once your order is confirmed. See our Terms for the details.
